Kelly Brown Workshop!

As a professional newborn and baby photographer, it is so important to me to stay current in my field. Regularly I do training workshops from other professional newborn photographers across the world. This week I went to Coventry to see Kelly Brown, an Australian newborn photographer that I’ve admired since the very beginning of my career. As a professional newborn photographer it is so important to remain up to date with training and styles. I love seeing how other newborn photographers run a session and pick up tips to make my sessions even safer and smoother than they already are.

It was such a lovely experience to see Kelly Brown as she was one of the photographers I discovered early in my career and I remember watching her training videos in a tiny flat many many years ago. At that time I decided to go to clients homes as I had no studio then and as I didn’t drive I would carry my very large suitcase filled with props on the train, tube, bus etc. I remember lugging my heavy suitcase up stairs, dealing with very tiny flats and very little natural light in clients homes. I’ve come so far since then and attribute it to all the training I’ve received over the years. I now have a gorgeous studio and the quality of my work is consistent and high-quality. I’m so very grateful that my career has bloomed over the years and given me a job that I absolutely adore.

Kelly’s workshop was held at The Newborn Photography Show in Coventry and it was so nice to see all the prop vendors I buy from in person and meet other newborn photographers from across England and Wales. Newborn Photography can be an isolating job if you work alone so it was so amazing to talk to others who share the same passion.
