I often get asked what is the best age to photograph your child- any age is important and has a unique quality. Whether your baby is six months, two years, or ten, your Southampton family photoshoot will celebrate exactly who you are right now.

Family Photography Sessions can be done in your home, my Southampton studio or outdoors in Southampton or surrounding Hampshire areas. I love intimate family home sessions as your home tells your own story, it contains keepsakes and decor that represents you as a family. It is your little family bubble and is such a lovely way to get intimate, emotive and moody images that tell the story of your family and your incredible love.

Don’t feel like your home is aesthetically pleasing? My Southampton family photography studio is designed to feel like home — soft light, natural textures, and a calm, welcoming space where you can simply be yourselves.

I have a Client Closet for mum and baby (up to one year) where you can choose from a range of quality dresses for mum and rompers, bonnets and baby grows for baby. For dad I recommend something casual like a jumper. henley or soft t-shirt as collared shirts often look too stuffy for a family session.

I give tips for what to wear to your session in your booking email but I love long flowy dresses, oversized cosy knits and warm, neutral colours that give us an organic, rustic look! You want something you can move in when cuddling or playing with your littles during the session!

I love tiny close-knit family images with parents and children as these help us get the really intimate moments that capture who you really are. Pets are ALWAYS welcome!

Almost everyone is nervous to have their photos taken, no one is confident doing it unless they are a model! With years of experience offering family photography in Southampton, I know how to make clients feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera.

I am such a relaxed person and love making you feel comfortable during a session. The best part of a family session is you get to play and cuddle with your little ones. They are the focus!

The key word here is “family”, I photograph families, families of all ages! I love photographing newborns, the sitting stage, one year and then all ages. Even if your family is filled with adults, it is important to capture all memories! Memories don’t become less important just because your children are grown up! Whether it’s your baby’s sitting stage, your teen years, or a full extended family gathering, every season is worth capturing. My Southampton family photography sessions are all about preserving those special connections as your family grows.

I’m not a traditional “look at the camera and say cheese” photographer, I prefer natural images where I capture your family interacting together rather than looking at me. We want connection and memories!

I love shooting in my cosy home studio in Southampton the most or in homes. Cosy indoor sessions in the rainy UK are my favourite but I do love outdoors at Lepe Beach or amongst the trees and horses in the New Forest. 

As a family photographer in Southampton and a mum of three, I completely understand that children have their own moods and energy! I am used to everything and we take our time so that everyone feels comfortable. Sometimes the best photos happen in the chaos!

If the forecast looks rainy on the day of your Southampton family photoshoot, we’ll simply reschedule for a dry day or move your session into my cosy studio. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable, whether we’re outdoors in the New Forest or staying warm inside.

Your edited images will be delivered in an online gallery within two weeks of your family photography session in Southampton. Each photo is lovingly edited in my warm, organic style so your gallery feels timeless and true to your family story.
