How do you know if you’d prefer a studio or outdoor maternity session? Well, both have their positive and negatives but I thought I’d talk all about the positives of studio maternity photography today!
1.) Fine Art- Studio maternity photography has the potential to appear timeless and classic. Like the images above, they also have a beautiful fine art look that looks great put up on a large canvas in your house. They can be styled however you want with beautiful dresses, partially nude or casual to create the perfect fine art look.
2.) Unlimited Maternity Dresses- The downside about an outdoor session is that you have to find somewhere to change. There is a toilet in my outdoor location that I use for pregnancy photography but having to walk around does limit the amount of times we can change. In the studio we have the option to change many times and pick from the large variety of maternity dresses that I have hanging in the studio. You can also change your hairstyle in between dresses so that we get a wide range of looks for the session.
3.) Weather friendly- The beauty of studio sessions is that we don’t need to worry about weather conditions! I had a few outdoor maternity sessions scheduled for this week and we had to change them due to this snowy weather!
4.) Are You Camera Shy?– Studio sessions provide an intimate and private environment to take maternity images in. This way if you are hesitant to pose in front of people walking around a park (and dogs) it provides a comfortable environment for you to be in. Also, it is more private if you wish to show off your bump!
Maternity photography sessions are best held from 32-34 weeks and I provide a range of maternity gowns for you to use if you wish.
